Asymmetry in sagging and hogging responses of a ship hull

چکیده
Abstract In this paper asymmetry in sagging and hogging of a hull progressing regular waves is investigated by applying weakly nonlinear potential flow theory. At first instance ship motions are evaluated using linear strip-theory yielding transfer functions sectional loads. Then, assuming time-histories the part Froude-Krylov restoring forces moments panel representation. Linear predictions compared against available model tests for roll-on/off (Ro-Pax) hull. The results confirm that importance nonlinearities wave loading on hogging.
